You will need a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer with an up-to-date web browser and a reliable internet connection. We recommend Google Chrome.

Salvationist Radio is our continuous live radio stream of Salvation Army music. It is completely free and does not require an account. You can find it in the top right of your screen (desktop) or in the menu (mobile devices).
Some content is free once you have signed in. Most on-demand audio and video needs an active subscription or free trial. The site will tell you which applies - look for Sign in to play or Subscribe to play on the album or track.
There is no separate registration step. Simply choose Sign in. If you are new, we create your account automatically the first time you sign in successfully.
Listener accounts do not use passwords. On the sign-in page you can choose:
Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft, or
Sign in with email - enter your email address and we will send you a six-digit code. Enter that code to complete sign-in.
Check your spam or junk folder. Make sure you entered the correct email address.
If your code has expired, request a new one using Resend email (please wait a short moment between requests).
If you still have no code, please contact us.
Please use the same method you signed up with. If you first signed in with Google, continue with Google. If you used email, continue with email. Using a different method with the same email address may not work.
If you have signed in before, make sure you are using the correct method (see above). Check that you entered the right email address, or that your sign-in code has not expired. If the problem continues, please contact us.

Audio is streamed at high quality using adaptive technology - the player adjusts to your connection so playback stays smooth. Most listeners hear AAC at up to 256 kbps.
Yes. You can use SAmusicplay on as many devices as you like, but only two devices can stream at the same time. If you see a message about stream limits, stop playback on another device and try again. You can manage your devices under Account → Devices.
It should be possible on most smart TVs with a web browser, though we cannot guarantee every model. Streaming to a TV via casting is also available where your device supports it.
Playback problems are often caused by a weak or unstable internet connection. Please check your connection first. For video issues specifically, you may find Vimeo's playback advice helpful. If problems persist, please contact us.
On Android, the system can stop background apps to save battery. This may interrupt album playback when you lock your screen or switch away from SAmusicplay. We are actively improving this, and the steps below help on most devices.
1. Install the home-screen app. If you have not already, add SAmusicplay to your home screen. The installed app is more reliable in the background than a regular browser tab.
2. Turn off battery optimisation. Open your phone's Settings, find SAmusicplay (or Chrome if you listen in the browser) under Apps, and look for a battery or power option. Choose Unrestricted, Don't optimise, or the closest equivalent. The menu names differ between phones — if you cannot find it, try searching settings for "battery optimisation".
3. Lock the app in recent apps. Open your recent-apps list, find SAmusicplay, and tap the lock icon so the system does not close it. If you listen in Chrome, lock Chrome too.
These steps cannot guarantee uninterrupted playback on every device, but they significantly improve reliability. If music still stops, please contact us and tell us your phone model, Android version, and whether you use the home-screen app or Chrome.
iPhone and iPad: Background playback generally works well. If you have problems, make sure Low Power Mode is off, close other media apps, and try reinstalling SAmusicplay from the home screen. Please contact us if the issue persists.
At present it is not possible to view album booklets on SAmusicplay.
SAmusicplay runs as a website and can be installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) - an app-like shortcut on your phone, tablet or computer. There is no separate app in the Apple App Store or Google Play at launch.
Click the download button on your device (top right of the screen), and follow the on-screen instructions.
Not at present. You need an internet connection to stream audio and video.
If you have added SAmusicplay to your home screen, basic pages may load from a cached copy when you are offline. Streaming music and video always requires an active internet connection.
Go to Account to view your name, email address and sign-in method. If you signed in with Google or Microsoft, your name is taken from that account.
Go to Account, scroll to the bottom, and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your personal information. If you have an active subscription, it will be cancelled. This cannot be undone.
Sign in again on the new device using the same method as before (Google, Microsoft or email). You do not need to log out of one device to use another - but remember only two devices can stream at the same time.
The SA Music Index (SAMI) is a catalogue of Salvation Army sheet music. SAmusicplay and SAMI will link to each other - where sheet music is available, you will be able to jump from a recording to the score, and vice versa.
